Cyanotype Prints

Cyanotype printing, also called 'sun-printing', is a historic photo-making process that uses the sun's ultraviolet rays to permanently fix an image onto a page.

With hand-mixed chemistry, the emulsions are applied to the paper and printed out in a non-traditional darkroom. In these images, an additional process of gum bichromate is often added to adhere watercolor pigments onto the image, filling in colored details for a multilayered print. The selected images are of tropical environments and urge the appreciation of the natural world.
